According to Chan and Lynn (1991), the components of an organizational performance have to contain with marketability, profitability, effective, consumer satisfaction and also considering employee mindset. In this way effective and efficient employee performance will effect as a growth to the overall organizational performance.

Baron and Armstrong (1998) referred the Performance Management, as it focused on future and individual enhancements on capacity will lead to the growth of effectiveness in the organization.

Performance Appraisals

Performance is measured by performance appraisals  which is a process which sets some marks to evaluate the level of performance of an individual or a team( Denisi, 2000)

Performance is combined with managing and measuring employee capacity. 



An effective Performance Management process establishes the groundwork for excellence by:


  • Combining organizational goals with employee aims by communicating and guide them to gain the purpose of their duties and finally they will smoothly complete the goals of the organization.
  • Consider more on performance objectives which are coherent and make future goals based on their results.
  • Create direct development plans.
  • Organize small frequent meetings based on guiding them on all over the performance criteria and to collect feedback from them which will make it practical.

Performance Appraisal is basically focused on past and do not go through direct and coherent aims. However Performance management is a process which will continue throughout the area. It is considered as the best and practical method (www.peoplestream.com, 2018)

Conclusion -

There is obviously a link between HRM and Performance Management.Taking a Performance Management approach involves aligning HRM practices in such a way that they maximize current as well as future employee performance, which in turn is expected to affect organizational performance.
Organizational performance will decide the reputation and the employee engagement, Satisfaction, Attrition ratios in the organization. As we can see its a vast area , a suitable planning and structuring have to take part in order to track these practically before the end.
